Water Resource Management

This building block is strong when: There is a clear framework for the allocation and management of water abstraction and water quality and this framework is being implemented. There are systematic practices of catchment protection, planning for multiple uses of water, dialogue platforms for water resource disputes, and effective arrangements for hydrological monitoring.

Members are strengthening this building block by:

  • Undertaking water resource assessments and strengthening water resource registration and ongoing monitoring processes
  • Supporting the development of integrated Water Resources Management plans and strengthening platforms for multi-stakeholder dialogue
  • Strengthening service providers’ capacity to effectively manage their water resources
